The Republic of Bolivia is situated at the heart of South America, between 57° 26' and 69° 38' of western longitude from the Greenwich meridian, and parallels 9° 38' and 22° 53' of southern latitude, taking in more than 13 geographical degrees. It borders Brazil to the north and northeast, Peru to the northeast, Paraguay to the southeast, Argentina to the south and Chile to the west and southwest.

CLIMATE

The Bolivian territory has a variety of climates that differ according to geographical region. On the plains it is hot and humid, with average temperatures of 25° C (77° F) and heights that vary between 200 and 400 m/above sea level in the valleys, temperate and dry, with average temperatures of 15C° (50° F) and altitude ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 metres above sea level. The Altiplano has an average temperatures of 10° C (40° F) and an average altitude of 3,500 m above sea level. Its biodiversity means that 65% of the territory consists of plains, 15% valleys and 20% Altiplano.

The country is divided into 9 departments (Beni, Cochabamba, Chuquisaca, La Paz, Oruro, Pando, Potosí, Tarija and Santa Cruz.

GEOGRAPHY

The Bolivian territory has a variety of climate according to the different geographical regions. In the plains it is hot and humid with an average temperature of 25°C (77°F) and heights that range between the 200 and 400 meters over the sea level. In the valleys, a moderate and dry average temperature of 15C ° (50°F) and an altitude that goes from the 1,000 to 3,000 meters over the sea level. In the Altiplano or high plateau cold with an average temperature of 10°C (40°F) and an average altitude of 3500 m.o.s.l.

For its biodiversity, 65% of the territory is plains, 15% valleys and 20% altiplano.
