“Kallawayas” Trail: Curva – Pelechuco

This walk begins by skirting the Cordillera of Apolobamba, crossing mountain passes at heights of between 5,500 and 5,000 m. We are able to appreciate the majestic Akhamani which, according to the Kallawayas, is home to the spirits of their ancestors. This hike takes us through some of Bolivia’s most magical and mystical places. The route crosses millenarian communities that bear the legacy of the Kallawaya Culture, known for the use of local medicinal plants with therapeutic effects. It is also possible to appreciate the creation of various textiles and visit thermal baths while enjoying the magic of this region. This walk lasts for five days and four nights, passing through regions of singular beauty such as Charazani, Curva, Sunchuli and Pelechuco.

Gold trail

This walk begins in the locality of Sorata, over which loom the majestic peaks of Illampu and Ancohuma. It takes nine days and eight nights, allowing the visitor to observe a gradual change in the different ecological strata, as well as crossing rivers and mountains which still conserve their natural surroundings. The maximum altitude reached is 5,750 m. above sea level, 3 hours away from a village named Ancoma. After this a gradual descent through other settlements, found between 3,800 and 700 m, brings us to the locality of Tipuani. The diversity of the existing ecosystem along the trail allows one to enjoy one of the most paradisiacal scenarios Bolivia has to offer. The possibility exists of extending the trip by continuing by motor craft towards Rurrenabaque/San Buenaventura

Pacha Trek Apolobamba

This trek is a journey through mystical Andean landscapes, a region known for Kallawaya healers who practice ancestral herbal medicine and sacred rites in honour of the Pachamama, the Andean goddess of the land. Each community visited during this hike has its own interpretative centre, with exhibitions that point out unique aspects of its cultural and natural history. Throughout the trip there will be interaction with Kallawaya healers who can read fortunes in coca leaves, or prepare healing rituals. There are visits during the trip to Kaluyo, Chacarapi and Chari.

Tuni Condoriri high Mountain Path

Duration: 3 days
This is a walk over half a mountain, crossing the Condoriri National Park where, besides appreciating various mountains, one can observe wild flora and fauna such as alpacas, llamas and vizcachas, as well as seagulls, geese and sparrows. This hike takes three days and two nights, during which we observe incomparable mountains and unforgettable lagoons as we cross passes such as that of Ancoma, at 5,000 m. and the “Liviñosa” Lagoon, an area in which to appreciate the Condor, a bird considered King of the Andes. The peaks of Huayna Potosí and Condoriri can be observed throughout the route. The walk concludes with the descent from Ancoma to Botijlaka, located in the Valley of Zongo.
